Carcassonne is a “must” city, visited second only to Paris in France – it boasts the magnificent walled city and  the “lower Carcassonne” which is a grid town.

Of course it has it’s weekly markets, cafés and restaurants as well as exhibitions, cultural events music and the arts, events – culinary or historical – the list goes on.

The beautiful Canal du Midi runs through the town for those who enjoy either cycling the tow paths or a peaceful boat trip.
